Originally from Latvia, Katerina Apale is a multidisciplinary artist working across painting, drawing, and textiles. Since relocating to Australia in 2014, the country’s radiant coastal light and diverse native landscape have profoundly shaped her practice. Her expressive compositions capture the interplay of colour, texture, and movement found along the shoreline.
Blending her European art training with the vivid energy of Australia, Katerina creates contemporary works that celebrate nature’s rhythm and atmosphere. From sunlit blooms to glimmers of the sea, her art reflects a deep curiosity and a soulful connection to her surroundings, capturing the ever-changing beauty of our native flora and landscapes.
