Artist - Metal Sculptor
Simon Treseder

"The challenge of transforming industrial scrap into fluid marine forms fuels my imagination. Creating these sculptures has become my greatest passion—second only to the waves themselves."
Simon Treseder is a metal sculptor based on the Central Coast of NSW, creating distinctive artworks from reclaimed metals and weathered tools. With a background in custom motorcycle and hot-rod fabrication, he brings industrial precision to his artistic depictions of coastal wildlife—from pelicans and crabs to intricate fish fashioned from rusted spanners and gears.
Inspired by the ocean that surrounds him, Simon’s art pays homage to the creatures of the sea. Each piece captures movement and character while retaining the raw integrity of its components, celebrating the natural patina of age and imperfection. Driven by a strong environmental ethos, Simon is passionate about giving scrap metal a second life. When not in the studio, he is continually inspired by his time snorkelling or surfing, keeping him closely connected to the forms and textures of marine life.
